The AI Center of Excellence at Ain Shams University (ASU) is pleased to announce a call for proposals aimed at fostering innovative research at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and medicine. We invite multidisciplinary teams to collaborate on pioneering projects that leverage AI to advance medical science and healthcare delivery.
### Scope of the Call
The focus of this initiative is *AI in Medicine*, with an emphasis on collaborative efforts that integrate expertise from:
– At least two clinical subspecialties.
– Computer science or related technical disciplines.
Proposals should aim to address significant challenges in medical practice, research, or healthcare systems using AI-driven approaches. Examples of potential areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
– AI in diagnostic imaging and radiology.
– Predictive analytics for personalized medicine.
– Natural language processing in medical records and clinical documentation.
– AI-driven decision support systems.
– Robotics and automation in surgical or therapeutic interventions.
### Eligibility Criteria
– Proposals must demonstrate collaboration between at least two clinical subspecialties and a computer science or technical team.
– Principal Investigators (PIs) must be affiliated with Ain Shams University or an ASU-partnered institution.
– Projects must have a duration of at least *two years*, with clearly defined milestones and deliverables.
### Funding and Support
Selected projects will receive funding and access to the AI Center of Excellence’s resources, including:
– Advanced computing infrastructure.
– Mentorship from leading experts in AI and medicine.
– Opportunities for publication, dissemination, and community engagement.
### Proposal Submission Guidelines
Interested teams are invited to submit a detailed proposal including:
1. *Project Title:*
2. *Executive Summary:* Outline the primary objectives and significance of the project (max 300 words).
3. *Team Composition:* Detail the roles and expertise of each team member.
4. *Research Plan:* Provide a comprehensive plan including methodology, expected outcomes, and potential impact.
5. *Timeline:* Include a Gantt chart or equivalent outlining milestones over the 2+ year period.
6. *Budget:* Provide an itemized budget with justification for each category.
