Our unit is one of the highly specialized neurology units concerned with different childhood neurological disorders in children aging from birth till 18 years old. It was founded in 2013 during department leadership of professor Dr. Samia Ashur

Education

Postgraduate Teaching of Neuropediatric Disorders and how to perform neurological examination to child.

The Unit has an important role in the teaching through different conferences and meetings.

The unit supervises on post graduate researches and papers about childhood neurological disorders.

Clinical Services

We have one clinic per week every Tuesday providing service to about 30 children by clinical diagnosis, guidance to specific investigations taking in consideration their age, regular follow up and treatment with adequate pediatric doses.

We refer different cases to other highly specialized clinics (e.g.: movement disorders and neuromuscular clinic).

As a part of management, we refer the children that need rehabilitation to different rehabilitation centers.

Community Services

Weekly outpatient clinic 

Provding patients with monthly medication.

Awareness about genetic and congenital disorders to care giver of the patients to avoid future disorders in next pregnancy or other siblings.

Collaboration with other units in our department as epilepsy, neuromuscular and involuntary units

Collaboration with faculty of education, Ain Shams University to follow up special cases in psychological counseling center.
