DETAILED SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

  • 1976 graduated from the Faculty of Medicine. Passed one year for general training.
  • 1978 started the career as a resident of Neurology and Psychiatry for three years in Ain Shams University Hospitals. Trained on clinical neurology, clinical psychiatry and neurophysiology. Prepared the MSc thesis on “The mental disorders with brain tumors”.
  • 1981 Passed the exam for the Master degree. Promoted for a job of assistant lecturer on Neurology and Psychiatry in Ain Shams University. Continued practice in the lab. Of neurophysiology.
  • 1982 Joined the Egyptian society of Neurology Psychiatry and Neurosurgery and the Pan Arab union of Neurological sciences.
  • 1983 Visited Graz University in Austria and worked with Prof. Dr. Helmut Lechner as research fellow for 20 months. Trained in a highly specialized center for cerebrovascular diseases, including training in hemorheology, cerebral blood flow, EEG, EMG and EP.
  • 1985 Finished the MD thesis on “Hemorheology in cerebrovascular stroke “.
  • 1986 Passed the exam for the degree of MD of Neurology.
  • 1987 Promoted to a job of lecturer of Neurology and Psychiatry in Ain Shams University and devoted to establish the unit of Neurology in the new specialized hospital of Ain Shams University. Worked as a director of the Neurology unit in the new hospital for 12 months.
  • 1988 Worked as a consultant of Neuropsychiatry in Al Fanateer hospital in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia for 18 months.
  • 1990 Devoted to establish the Stroke unit in the new hospital of Ain Shams University and worked as a director of the Neurology unit for 10 months.
  • 1991 Visited Graz University for one month to get training on the latest technology of Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography.
  • 1992 Promoted to a job of associate professor of Neurology and Psychiatry in Ain Shams University.
